MINUTES OF ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
JULY 5th, 2008

President Joe Howes brought the meeting to order, at 10:30AM. He thanked Richard Nass for attending our meeting. He had some nice things to say about West Pond people.

"The Dam is finished!!!!!"
We have a lot of people to thank.
Dennis Spinney, Dan Stimson & Sons, Mark Foye, Rusty Wheeler, John Cavaretta, Randy Coulton, Joe & Marijane Davock, Eileen & Michael Blokland, John & Debbie Sobczak, Steve & Denise Manseau, Dennis & Debbie Dupuis and many others.

Dennis Spinney gave a talk about the "weed" and the progress that has been made. The Dash boat is finished. Tim Hennessey, Rusty Wheeler and Dennis will work on it this summer.

We have 2 harvests, spring & fall. Dennis keeps records of the grant, $6,000 was promised, we have received $3,000. Our divers volunteered to check Long Pond for the weed.

The weed in Sunset cove is almost gone. Mats were taken out, as they didn't work.

Phosphorus reports are in, we are waiting to hear.

Judy Ingram informed us of the new recycling.

Bill Margolian from the East End Boys Camp talked about the new book and invited us all to their open house on August 17th for refreshments and a tour of the camp.

Russell Martin, Lakeside Septic Systems, gave a very informational talk on lake side waste systems. This was given to both West Pond and Long Pond people. This was a very long and interesting discussion

Sandy Agrafiotis informed us about an invasive bug in hemlock trees.

Thanks to Bill and Nicky Buchanan for water monitoring, pond is in good shape. Nicky read the treasurers report and reiterated that all donations would be accepted.

We thanked Denise Manseau for the Web-site, Eileen Blokland will take her place. A thank you was given to Joe Davock for doing the mailing and John & Deb Sobczak for office supplies.

Recipes are wanted for the cookbook, Joe Howes is checking on quotes from publishers.

There is more algae in the pond because of the high water. Jim Ansell has lost 6 or seven feet because of fast boats and erosion.

Tiffany Brandt spoke about the speed on the Road Between the Ponds, suggested portable speed bumps, we had a short discussion on this.

All donation checks should be make out to the West Pond Association.
Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted.
